With the RF 400mm F2.8L IS USM, Canon is targeting wildlife, sports and news photographers who are caught in the action.The super telephoto lens offers sensational results and excellent portability.
The optical design is based on that of existing advanced EF lenses. However, they are adapted for native use on the EOS R system cameras, delivering improved image quality and stunning performance. Even at the maximum aperture of f/2.8, you can enjoy exceptional sharpness. This is due to the use of Fluorite and Super UD glass in addition to Air Sphere and Super Spectra coatings. In combination with a large maximum aperture, the Image Stabilizer ensures that you can continue to shoot in low-light conditions. The stabilization offers a compensation of up to 5.5 stops.
As you would expect from Canon's L-series lenses, the lens is of high build quality. The heat-resistant, white finish ensures that you can use it in all circumstances: in a rain shower along the sports fields or on a dusty safari tip.
