The Expodisc v3.0 77mm professional white balance filter incorporates several diffusion materials, making it perform better over the visible spectrum of 380-700 nm and ensuring better white balance results when shooting in cool, open shade or very warm light. The improved performance of the updated materials, compared to its predecessor, extends beyond the visible spectrum of 700-2200 nm (near-infrared) and enables white balance adjustment when shooting with an IR-sensitive camera.
The ExpoDisc v3.0 design is thinner than the ExpoDisc v2.0. The ExpoDisc v3.0 can be held comfortably over lenses 82 mm or smaller and also features a bayonet mount that allows you to quickly attach the filter to your lens and easily remove it again using the included ExpoDisc v3.0 bayonet mount step ring. A step ring with single bayonet mount is included with each ExpoDisc, in size 77 mm or 82 mm.
The ExpoDisc can be used to set the white balance in-camera using your camera's custom white balance procedure. This custom white balance is included in your images when shooting JPEG, or added to your RAW images as the 'as-shot' white balance. This saves a huge amount of time when editing photos later, as each image has a neutral, measured white balance without having to adjust sliders. Stop software correcting colour later.
