Despite the large image sensor, the camera is compact, lightweight and extremely durable. The GFX 50R rangefinder-style design, weighing just 775 grams, makes it astonishingly compact and lightweight, despite being a midsize digital camera, especially when equipped with a compact lens. 

The compact and lightweight GFX housing has been designed with attention to detail to simultaneously achieve advanced functionality and elegance. Examples of this can be seen in the optimized forms of individual components, the surface structure of the magnesium alloy housing and the use of rubber material for a more comfortable grip. Control discs, including the shutter speed dial, are milled from aluminum blocks for a premium texture. Extra attention has been paid to the internal structure and fine adjustments have been made to individual operations, as can be seen by the clicking feeling and sound. The Fujifilm 50R is equipped with 51.4 MP medium CMOS sensor and X-Processor Pro image processing engine. The Fujifilm GFX system delivers image quality among the best in the industry. It combines an excellent resolution of 51.4 megapixels with exceptional tones, advanced color reproduction, and powerful lenses. The GFX 50R is equipped with the 0.77x 3.69M-point organic EL electronic viewfinder (EVF). This allows for accurate focus, despite the large size of the medium format sensor, which has a shallower depth of field than that of a 35 mm full-frame sensor when taking photos with the same angle of view.

This is the first model in the GFX system that supports low energy Bluetooth technology. Captured images can be easily and quickly transferred to smartphones and tablets that are connected to the camera via the Fujifilm Camera Remote app. The Fujifilm GFX 50R offers various special accessories that can be used to build a system that meets the specific requirements of professionals.
