The stabilised binoculars are equipped with Kite's angle power control (APC) system. Without you having to flip the switch, the stabilising electronics are put into sleep mode when the instrument is in the resting position (hanging from the neck), and are automatically activated when you start observing again. This results in a huge increase in battery life and ease of use.

The APC 42 binoculars feature 2 battery holders. Each battery holder accommodates two standard AA batteries. One battery holder with 2 functional AA batteries lasts 60 hours. The other box holds 2 spare AA batteries. After the first 60 hours, simply swap the batteries and continue for another 60 hours. Intelligent features like the KITE APC system will put the stabilising electronics into sleep mode when the instrument is in rest position (hanging from the neck), and automatically activate the device when you start observing again. This results in a huge increase in battery life and ease of use. And regardless of the position (resting or active), the instrument automatically switches off after 90 minutes to save energy.

The APC 42's stabilisation capability goes beyond suppressing image vibrations caused by wind or shaky hands. The stabilisation capacity is 2x to 3x greater than that of other stabilised consumer binoculars. APC stabilised binoculars have a military-grade capacity stabilisation system that enables stable viewing from moving vehicles, boats, aircraft and other unstable platforms.

The APC 42 is fully waterproof. The optical system and electronics are sealed, resulting in an IPX7 waterproof rating. It can withstand any kind of rainstorm and can even be submerged to a depth of 1 metre for up to 30 minutes. The system is filled with nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging.
