The LaCie d2 Professional 4TB USB-C desktop hard drive is the fourth generation of the d2 family. This drive is known for its performance, reliability and design.
The LaCie d2 has Thunderbolt 3 on board, which yields a number of benefits. First of all, the high speeds that can be achieved; up to 240MB per second. It is also compatible with USB-C if your device does not have a Thunderbolt 3 port. A big advantage of Thunderbolt 3 is that you only need one cable to connect your laptop to all your devices. It is possible to connect other devices to the LaCie d2 and to connect them to your laptop using Thunderbolt 3. Consider, for example, a USB-C disk drive, a screen or an Ethernet cable (with USB-C adapter). A Thunderbolt 3 connection also supplies power, so your laptop is charged while you are connected with just one cable whilst having access to all your devices.
The LaCie d2 Professional is made of high-quality aluminium. The design is made in such a way that as much heat as possible is removed. The hard drive contains a small fan that, in combination with the aluminium housing, is very quiet. The LaCie d2 comes with Seagate BarraCuda Pro drives, which are known for their fast performance, large storage and reliability. What happens if my hard drive has a fault? Then take advantage of a five year limited warranty. This also includes a free Rescue Service for data recovery. Your data will then be retrieved free of charge in the LaCie lab. Incidentally, this is not a guarantee for all your data, so we recommend that you always make a backup of your data yourself.
