The LaCie Rugged Mini SSD 500GB USB 3.2 external hard drive has the same features as the popular Rugged SSD Hard Disk, such as shock and drop resistance. It also has a rubber edge on the outside for extra protection. However, with the Rugged Mini, LaCie has gone one step further: this drive is also rain and pressure resistant: if you drive over it with a one-tonne car, it will still work afterwards! Thanks to its small size, you can take this drive anywhere.
The Rugged Mini offers USB 3.2 speed and full backward compatibility with USB 2.0, making it compatible with virtually any computer. USB 3.2 lets you transfer a 700MB video file in less than seven seconds, compared to the 25 seconds needed with USB 2.0. Plus, you can use the LaCie Mac USB 3.0 driver to improve transfer speeds on your Mac: a 30% performance boost compared to FireWire 800.
