Description
Leica is the only manufacturer that is already for many producing professional analogue cameras. The Leica M-A (Typ 127) is a purely mechanical 35mm rangefinder camera. The M-A does not require batteries and relies only on the essential camera functions like ISO, aperture and shutter speed (up to 1/1000 sec). This makes that the Leica M-A can be used even under the most extreme conditions. The lack of an LCD screen makes the M-A even more compact than the digital M cameras.
The camera features a bright viewfinder with a magnification of 0,72x and it also features a hot shoe with centre contact which makes that the M-A can combine with different types of flash units. The Leica M-A can be combined with all M-mount lenses with a range of 16-135mm.
Form and function in perfect unity
The visible elements of the Leica M-A are as timeless as the precision-engineered principles employed inside it. The top deck and baseplates are discreet and unobtrusive finished in silver paint and the leather casing offers a superior grip. To emphasize the classic character, Leica has even gone so far as to completely omit the characteristic logo in the form of a red dot.
In 2014 not only the Leica M system celebrates its 60th anniversary, but also another icon, the Kodak Tri-X 400 film. The Tri-X 400 film has exceptional sharpness, extremely fine grain, and a distinctive tonal gradation. This is also the reason why Leica standard provides this film with each camera Leica M-A.
