Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III Body Silver

20.4megapixel Live MOS sensor with TruePic VIII image processor

The camera combines the 20.4-megapixel Live MOS sensor with the fast TruePic VIII image processor previously used in the OM-D E-M1 Mark II. This results in minimal distortion at the edges of the image and minimal noise, even at high ISO settings. The sensor is cleaned using Olympus' acclaimed SSWF (Super Sonic Wave Filter) technology, which vibrates the image sensor filter 30,000 times per second when the camera is turned on to remove dust.

5-axis image stabilisation

The E-M5 Mark III features a compact image stabilisation unit and integrated 5-axis image stabilisation. The TruePic VIII image processor controls the stabilisation unit based on camera shake data from the gyro sensor and image analysis. This allows you to compensate for up to 5.5 stops of shutter speed at a focal length of 40mm. When you combine the body with a stabilised lens, this even increases to 6.5 stops.

Integrated phase detection AF system with 121 cross-type points

The camera features Olympus' on-chip integrated phase-detection AF system with 121 cross-type points. The algorithm has been improved over previous models, minimising the chance of misfocusing. The E-M5 Mark III uses AF/AE tracking at up to 10 frames per second. The moving subject algorithm uses AF data from Live View and recorded images to quickly detect unpredictable subject movement and speed changes.

Weatherproof seal

Olympus has given the E-M5 Mark III a distinctive design. The camera has a large viewfinder for extra visibility. For a good grip, the camera has thumb rests on the back and a larger grip. In addition, the camera is dust-, splash- and frost proof, if combined with a weatherproof M.Zuiko lens. So you don't need to worry if you find yourself in a rainstorm. All components in the Mark III have been drastically reduced in size, making the body very compact. Even with the lens it is still manageable enough to carry around.

Various shooting options

The camera comes with versatile shooting options. For example, you can shoot long exposures with Live Composite, which is ideal for photos with light trails. Pro Capture mode lets you shoot at 14 frames per second from the moment you half-press the shutter button. So, you won't miss a single moment. High Res Shot lets you shoot up to 50-megapixel photos on a tripod. This is achieved by shifting the image sensor in 0.5-pixel steps and taking 8 shots in a row, then combining them. Focus Bracketing allows you to take up to 999 shots with just one press of the shutter button, changing the focus for each shot. These can then be combined with Focus Stacking to create a single image with greater depth of field.

Customised mode allows you to save your favourite camera settings and activate them instantly by setting the mode dial to C. SCN (Scene) mode giving you a choice of six shooting themes and their optimal settings. The E-M5 Mark III also has 16 creative filter options, which you can check on the LCD before taking the shot.

In addition to taking photos, you can of course also shoot video with the E-M5 Mark III, in C4K, 4K, Full HD. The integrated phase-detection AF sensor is used for optimum focusing. You can also count on the 5-axis stabilisation.

Share photos via the Olympus Image Share app

Via Bluetooth connects the camera to your smartphone. The Olympus Image Share (OI.Share) app lets you quickly transfer the images you take to your phone. The Share Order function even lets you automatically send selected images on the camera to the smartphone when the camera is switched off.
