Pentax K-3 III Monochrome

The Pentax K-3 III Monochrome is a compact, ergonomic, monochrome SLR camera for passionate photographers. To optimise the quality of monochrome images, the camera features a dedicated monochrome APS-C, CMOS sensor without an AA filter with some 25.7 effective pixels. Because the sensor does not need to convert the incident light into colour, the focus is entirely on the brightness of the light. As a result, you enjoy images with an extra-detailed expression, in high resolution and rich in gradations.

The camera offers a high light sensitivity of ISO 1,600,000. But ensures that noise is kept to a minimum, even in the low or super high range. Besides taking photos, you can also shoot videos in 4K Resolution. Furthermore, the Real-Time Scene Analysis system ensures that the camera instantly detects the subject's face and eyes. This system enables optimisation of exposure settings and improves autofocus accuracy.

Motion correction

The built-in SR II motion compensation mechanism ensures sharp photos even in conditions prone to motion blur. In addition, thanks to the built-in AA simulator, moiré and incorrect colours are minimised to the same level as an optical AA filter.

Another feature of this camera is that it has built-in sensor shift and automatic horizon correction. Here, an oblique position of up to 2° is automatically corrected by the sensor. Furthermore, this camera has a SAFOX 13 autofocus system with 101 focusing sensors for razor-sharp focusing of a subject.

Design and connectivity

The Pentax K-3 III runs on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. This makes it easy to connect the camera to your smartphone or tablet and use the Image Sync app to monitor your images from your mobile device.

The classic SLR design consists of very strong aluminium and seals ensure stability. Moreover, the camera is weatherproof.

The Pentax DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 HD ED Limited DC WR has two times optical zoom, while featuring a maximum aperture of F2.8 in wide-angle mode. Besides an HD coating and full round aperture, this lens also has a weatherproof construction. Together with the silent autofocus system powered by an autofocus motor, this lens lets you take beautiful images even in poor weather conditions. Pentax DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 HD ED Limited DC WR offers a focal length range of 30.5mm to 61.5mm (on a 35mm camera) when used on a Pentax K-series interchangeable lens digital camera body. The range versatility, large aperture and weatherproof body make this lens ideal for everyday use.

Limited Lens Series for bright and sharp images
The design of this lens is a legacy of the Limited Lens Series. The lens has an optical system that faithfully reproduces depth while minimising corner distortion throughout the zoom range. Photographers optimise their subject's image by making its appearance softer at larger apertures and sharper at smaller apertures. The lens barrel, hood and cap are made of a high-quality aluminium material and hand-machined for perfect dimensions and beautiful texture. The zoom ring sits in the centre of the lens barrel and has a number of knurled grooves to make operation of the zoom easier.

High-quality optical technology
The lens is treated with Pentax-developed HD coating, a high-quality multi-layer coating. This reduces reflection in the visible light spectrum by more than 50 per cent compared to traditional multi-layer coatings. This enables the user to capture sharp, high-contrast images without flare and ghost images, even in adverse lighting conditions such as backlighting. The lens also includes an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element and a super-low dispersion glass element for bright high-resolution images with 100 per cent sharpness. It also effectively compensates for colour aberrations throughout the entire zoom range.

The first weatherproof lens in the Limited Lens Series
This lens is the first model in the Limited Lens Series with weatherproof construction with seven special seals to protect against water and moisture in the lens interior. Put the lens on a Pentax weatherproof digital SLR camera body and the user is assured greater durability and reliability while shooting in rain or fog and in locations with risk of spraying or splashing water.
