The right studio light is hugely decisive when making high-quality photos and videos. You can divide studio lighting into two categories: flash lighting or continuous lighting. When buying studio lighting it is important to think carefully about your style and what you want to achieve. Do you want hard light or soft light, is it important to capture movement and how big is the studio you work in?
There are many accessories for sale that make photography easier. Thanks to the accessories, you have plenty of time to fully focus on your work and achieve the result you have in mind faster.
A wireless trigger is a wireless remote control that allows you to control the communication between your camera and your flashes. Triggers are mainly used in combination with studio flashes.
A photo studio and panel is a mobile photo studio. You use a photo sutdio and panel especially for portrait or product photography. A photo studio & panel are available in different formats.
Studio continuous light sets are complete sets with which you can get straight to work. The advantage of a continuous lamp is that you can immediately see and adjust the result. In this way, you can be sure that you are achieving the desired effect.
For large subjects, groups or freezing movements, flashing lighting is most suitable. It has a number of major advantages: more power, less heat and dynamic photos. A flash set gives you the opportunity to start right away.
Studio LED lamps are an energy-efficient and silent solution. The best thing about LED lighting is that the lamps do not emit any heat.
For years, studio flashes have been used by professional photographers. Nowadays, studio flashes have become increasingly affordable for a larger audience.
An external flash, also known as an attachment flash, is the most obvious option. You can easily place it on your camera, but it can also be used separately via a trigger. Most also have a tilt and/or swivel function for indirect flashes. In addition, you can set the flash intensity to your own liking.
Another attachment flash is the ring flash. You probably already suspect it: this flash has the shape of a ring. You do not place it on top of your camera but around your lens. In addition, there are larger models that are used on a tripod and separately from the lens. Whichever you choose, the round shape always provides a soft and even light. You get a shadowless result. Ideal if you want to photograph an object up close, such as macro photography or portrait photography.
The most difficult lighting conditions can be found underwater. The deeper you go, the darker it gets. Don't forget the enormous blue haze underwater. For vibrant underwater photos you need different equipment and accessories. One of these is the underwater flash. This type of flash is waterproof and has enough power to create more light underwater. And that's exactly what you need.
A studio flash is a large external flash that you can place anywhere you like. It is the most commonly used light source in a studio. The advantage of this flash is that you have full control over the strength, colour temperature and direction of the light. Furthermore, you can use numerous accessories to bundle the light. So it gives you the opportunity to experiment with the lighting and play with special lighting effects.
As with photography, light also plays an important role in the making of videos. However, you often use an LED lamp or continuous lamp for this purpose. These lamps provide a constant output of light. In contrast to a flash that (very) briefly illuminates a subject. The advantage: you can immediately see what effect the exposure will have on your image. So you don't have to wait for the result before changing the setup and power.
Video lamps are of course also suitable for photography. Especially product and model photography. You can use the lamp as a main light or as a filling light.
