The Rode VideoMic Go II Helix is an ultra-compact shotgun microphone that lets you capture professional-quality audio. It features a revolutionary acoustic design just like the VideoMic NTG and NTG5 professional shotgun microphones. They use RØDE's innovative annular line tube technology for unparalleled transparency and rich, full sound. It enhances sound quality on any device to which it is connected. Being a smaller compact version of the NTG, it gives makers the sound of the highly regarded NTG shotguns, but in a convenient camera-mount microphone that works with cameras, portable recorders, iOS and Android mobile devices and USB-equipped computers. The VideoMic GO II runs on plug-in or USB power. This allows you to use it without batteries. There are also no complicated switches or controls, making it easy to use.

Use the VideoMic GO II as a traditional shotgun microphone for your DSLR or turn it into a digital microphone by connecting it to your smartphone, tablet or laptop with separately available cables. In either configuration, it delivers directional sensitivity, low noise and isolation from external vibration. Connect the VideoMic GO II via USB to your computer, smartphone or tablet to use it as a USB digital microphone for direct recording in your favourite software. When used as a USB mic, the 3.5mm jack acts as a headphone output for monitoring the live signal or playback from a host device.

The VideoMic GO II uses supercardioïde to record sound from the front while muting sound from the side and back.

A detachable 3.5mm TRS cable is included to quickly connect your camera. The cable has a dual mono configuration, so the microphone signal is sent identically to both input channels of the camera or portable recorder.

The microphone comes with a red-coloured HELIX™ shockmount specially developed for the VideoMic GO II. It provides prefect protection against bumps and shocks. The slim, minimalist design keeps your setup sleek while benefiting from optimal acoustic performance. The mount has convenient slots for your cables, an attachment for your camera and a threaded connector for attaching to a boompole and other accessories.

The VideoMic GO II also comes with a foam windshield to minimise unwanted noise from light breezes, fans, heaters and air conditioners. For maximum reduction of wind noise outdoors, consider another windshield, such as the Rode WS12 (sold separately).
