The RED Videomic NTG is a compact shotgun microphone that offers everything a filmmaker needs. It combines the compactness of the Videomic series and the high quality of the NTG series in one. The Videomic NTG is perfect for DSLRs, system cameras, but also suitable for smartphones or as a boom microphone on professional film sets.

The revolutionary acoustic design ensures crystal clear sound recordings with a natural transmission. The microphone has a directional supercarioid polar pattern with an extremely low frequency response for the best quality recordings. The unique gain control is variably adjustable to infinity, so that you get the ideal setup for every situation. The auto-sensing 3.5mm output automatically switches between TRS and TRRS, depending on the connection you use. This makes adapters a thing of the past.

The Videomic NTG has a headphone connection with which you can immediately hear what you are recording. You can connect the microphone to your computer or smartphone with the USB output. The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery can power the microphone for up to 30 hours and can be charged in two hours via USB-C. Thanks to the dB peak warning light, you will never have excessively high peaks in your audio again. The -20dB option can run parallel to your normal recording, so that in case of an excessively loud peak, you still have backup audio in good condition.
