The Side Lite is Shimoda's lightest backpack to date and is designed for mountain travellers who value "adventure over administration". It focuses on efficient performance in the field, allowing photographers to capture rare and beautiful fleeting moments with the lightest possible backpack.

As part of Shimoda's Side Series collection, the Side Lite accommodates the small or medium-sized Shimoda Top Loader inserts, allowing users to pack only the camera gear they need, while still leaving plenty of room for essentials in the wilderness in a slim, lightweight camera bag.

The system is modular and offers multiple usage scenarios in één package. You can use the modular Top Loader insert for protection in the backpack, use the Top Loader separately as a shoulder bag or sling, or attach it to the belt of the backpack as a waist bag. • All Side Series backpacks use the Shimoda Top Loader camera insert system. Included is a medium-sized Top Loader bag. The Top Loader can be used as a camera insert or separately as a sling/shoulder bag. They can also be used with the backpack's hip belt as a waist bag.Side Series backpacks can be easily adapted to different shooting scenarios with één modular system.
• Side access: Side Series backpacks have side access to the camera only. The side port provides access to any Shimoda Top Loader insert size (small or medium). The side access makes the backpack much lighter while providing quick access to gear.
• Shimoda's Signature Women's Capture Straps: The straps are adapted to a woman's body and compatible with all brands of camera clips, with the added comfort of padding behind the clip. They have a zipped phone pocket for an iPhone Max, plus an expandable accessory pocket for gadgets, which also fits a water bottle. They also have hidden guidance for a 2-way radio speaker/microphone, which you can also use for a water hose.
• Expandable/portable storage: The rolltop can be expanded to meet changing travel and equipment needs. The front pocket easily accommodates jackets and other large items.
• Lightweight water-repellent recycled exterior, plus rain cover included: Besides a removable rain cover for the toughest wet days, the Side Series is made of Cordura re/cor RN66 fabric: a durable, lightweight nylon made from recycled pre-consumer waste material that has been recycled into high-quality yarn. The manufacturing process generates 83% less greenhouse gases, consumes 82% less energy and 57% less water than comparable nylon textiles.
