Significantly lighter than conventional Alpha cameras, the ILX-LR1 is ideal for inspection, survey, surveying and mapping. With no viewfinder and external controls required, its slim and versatile form factor means it is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

The ILX-LR1 supports the Sony Camera Remote SDK, giving users direct and responsive access to camera menus and other functions from within their own software applications.

A 35 mm full-frame Exmor R backlit CMOS image sensor with approximately 61.0 million effective pixels offers exceptional sensitivity, resolution and dynamic range. The advanced BIONZ XR image processing engine works in real time, delivering natural gradations and realistic colours with low noise for stills and movies. With high resolution, low noise and wide dynamic range images, the ILX-LR1 can reveal the finest details, such as tiny scratches and cracks, during inspection, survey, surveying and mapping. A wide ISO range of 100-32,000 allows the camera to work in most daylight conditions.

The ILX-LR1 is designed for industrial applications that do not need a conventional camera body, LCD monitor, viewfinder, grip, Multi Interface (MI) shoe or battery-powered functionality, all in a lightweight and compact design. The weight of the camera body is just 243 grams, while the dimensions are 100 x 74 x 42.5 mm.

The lower weight means longer flight times and the compact body fits into smaller drones, allowing high-altitude jobs to be done quickly. A 3fps continuous shooting function, suitable for drone mapping, allows quick completion of high-altitude shots, saving you time.

The Sony Camera Remote SDK allows users to remotely control the ILX-LR1's menus and other functions from their own software applications. By integrating an API into the system, it becomes possible to remotely control the camera from a computer, allowing changes to camera settings, the shutter button, live image monitoring and more. The Sony Camera Remote SDK allows user applications to associate unique image IDs with drone position data during post-processing.

The ILX-LR1 accepts DC power for long-term use without the need to change batteries. It includes power and recording indicator lights for instant external visual status checking. The camera's Power and Control Terminal enables low-latency data control for remote applications that require immediate response, such as capturing an image at a specific time. Through the terminal, focus and trigger signals can be sent from a remote system, and an exposure signal can be sent from the camera. Power supply, exposure output, focus and trigger can be sent to/from the camera using a single terminal. To prevent unintended changes to camera settings, it is equipped with a LOCK switch. Even if the LOCK switch is set to ON, you can still take photos by pressing the shutter button. There are screw mounts on each of the six surfaces, while controls and connectors - and micro HDMI, USB-C (with top-lock mechanism) and other controls are grouped together to maximise mounting options.

The ILX-LR1 is an interchangeable-lens camera, compatible with a wide range of E-mount lenses. Whatever the nature of the shot, you can select the most suitable lens, including medium telephoto lens lengths.
