The Swit S-8970 is a replacement or backup battery similar to the Sony NP-F970 L series rechargeable batteries. The battery is compatible with Sony camcorders such as the SONY HVR-V1/Z1/Z7, DSR-PD190, HD1000E, and so on. The S-8970 can exchange digital information with the camera, therefore remaining power information can be displayed on the viewfinder. The battery has a rated voltage of 7.2 C and a capacity of 47Wh or 6.6 Ah. When the LCD screen of your SONY HVR-Z1 camcorder is on, the battery life is about 5.5 hours. When the battery is empty, you can easily charge it with the separately available Swit S-3602F DV Charger for S-8972/8970/8770. Charging time is about 4.5 hours.
