What is an over/under shot?
An over/under shot is one in which you have both above and below water in one image. So you can see the waterline running through the photo. With an over/under shot, you can display the different worlds beautifully. But in addition to worlds, you can also photograph a surfer, for example. By showing what is happening in the water, you get an extra exciting and unique action photo.
For an over/under photo, it is best to use an underwater dome. With an underwater dome, you're not shooting against flat glass, which corrects the dimensions of the subjects. With flat glass, like through goggles, everything underwater seems bigger.
In addition, when shooting with a wide or larger underwater dome, you have a thinner waterline. This ultimately makes your image more pleasant to look at because there is no wide distracting line running through the photo.
