The JJC HB 90A Nikon Lens hood prevents unwanted stray light from entering the lens and protects your lens from damage. The matt finish on the inside prevents or reduces lens flare. When you want to store the lens and lens hood, you can slide the lens hood backwards over the lens. This makes for more compact storage. The lens hood allows you to fit a 62mm filter and a 62mm lens cap.
