The Kase 85mm f/1.4 AF is a bright, full frame portrait lens. Thanks to the large maximum aperture of f/1.4 combined with 13 blades, this lens creates very nice depth of field with round bokeh. Highlight the subject, accentuating (facial) details while keeping the background soft and unobtrusive. The aperture ring works with clear clicks, making it easier to choose the desired aperture.

The optical design of the Kase 85mm f/1.4 AF is very good. It consists of 13 lens elements divided into 10 groups. The 5 low-dispersion glass elements + 2 high-refractive-index glass elements ensure great image quality with rich colours. The entire image is clear and sharp. Flare and ghosting are greatly reduced and even in backlight, the lens produces high-contrast images with high colour accuracy. The lens also comes with a Lens hood for even better glare reduction.

The Lens cap of the Kase 85mm f/1.4 AF has a magnetic attachment, providing 360-degree all-round protection for the lens. This provides better Protection, dust resistance and a more convenient way to attach and remove the cap. You can also very easily attach magnetic filters directly to the lens, making it easier to use filters.

You can focus manually with the Kase 85mm f/1.4 AF, but you can also use the Autofocus in the lens. It is equipped with an STM autofocus motor for very fast and accurate focusing. The lens is also equipped with two adjustable function buttons. By default, one button is set to the minimum focus distance. Pressing it once switches the lens to the minimum focusing distance of 70cm and holding it down for a long time locks the current focusing distance. This feature makes using the lens even more convenient and faster.

The Kase 85mm f/1.4 AF has a moulded design for a fine grip. The back is metal for firmer attachment to the Camera and good feedback when adjusting settings.
