The Laowa 25mm F2.8 2.5-5x Ultra Macro Sony FE lens has been developed for extreme close-up photography and is a specialized macro lens for shooting subjects with magnifications larger than the true format. This lens works within a range of 2.5:1 to 5:1 and has a minimum focusing distance of only 17.3cm at the 5:1 magnification along with a comfortable 4 cm working distance. This range also benefits from the wide-angle focal length to achieve a greater depth of field compared to macro lenses with a long focal length. In addition to the close-up capabilities, the optical design includes an extra-layer dispersion element to reduce color edges and chromatic aberrations for a high degree of brightness. This 25mm f/2.8 is distinguished from other macro lenses by the particularly slim and lightweight design for easier use and more space to work with artificial light.
