The Leica APO-Summicron-SL 28mm F/2.0 ASPH is a wide-angle lens with fast and reliable autofocus. The lens has a maximum aperture of F2.0 which is huge for a lens with a fixed focal length of 28mm. The maximum aperture can be used without loss of image quality. This opens up even more creative possibilities for photographers who like to work with a shallow depth of field. The lens is very suitable for street, reportage, interior and architectural photography. Thanks to the high-quality coating used to finish the lens, reflections are almost completely eliminated. The lens can be used well under almost all weather conditions. During the development of the lens, extra attention was paid to sealing against dust, moisture and water spray.  

The lens features an updated manual focusing technology. This involves the construction of the manual focus ring. Here, a ring magnet with alternating north-south polarisation is built into the manual focus ring. The magenta field changes its polarity when the ring is rotated. A sensor monitors the status of the magnetic field and sends data to the main processor. The drive shifts the lens based on the angle of rotation and the corresponding focus position. This enables even faster and more precise manual focusing. Thanks to the L-Mount standard, the Leica APO-Summicron-SL 28 f/2 ASPH is also compatible with cameras from other L-Mount Alliance partners that feature this Leica-developed lens mount.

The APO-Summicron-SL series stata known for top optical performance. These lenses are all the same size with the same filter size of 67 mm.
