With the Metabones Canon EF to Sony E-Mount SB ULTRA II you can use your full-frame Canon EF-Mount lenses on your APS-C and Super35 format Sony E-Mount camera's . With the aid of advanced optics, this adapter increases the visible viewing angle of your full-frame lens by 0.71x, effectively combating the crop factor of an APS-C camera. This also increases the visible sharpness of your image while increasing the maximum aperture by 1 stop, making it seem like your full-frame lens is mounted on a full-frame camera. Further improved over previous generations of Smart Adapters, this fifth generation model now features a rubber seal to protect the camera from dust and moisture. It also offers an LED light to check the operating modes and a special switch that controls the in-body image stabilization of selected cameras. This version is also compatible with the Sony PXW-FS7 Mark II video camera.
This adapter is equipped with numerous possibilities thanks to the use of a high-performance 32-bit processor. The functions include support for both phase detection and contrast detection AF systems, as well as the ability to control the aperture of the camera body. Smooth iris effects are possible with selected lenses, and 5-axis stabilization is available thanks to communication of information from a distance with supported lenses. It also features a programmable function key, enables electronic (focus-by-wire) manual focus, sends EXIF data to the camera and works with image stabilization in the lens. In addition, distance and zoom is displayed on certain camcorders and mirror-free cameras. Automatic magnification can be enabled and can automatically switch to APS-C mode, depending on the lens used.
