The NiSi Pro Nano HUC IR ND1000 77mm filter is a strong grey filter that blocks up to 10 stops of light, thanks to its optical density of 3.0. The filter has a double-sided Nano-Coating, so that moisture does not adhere. This makes the filter easier to clean. The optical Schott glass reduces reflections and glare of light. This ND filter contains an infrared filter that prevents unwanted red colours in photos with long shutter speeds.
You use an ND filter to reduce the amount of light entering your sensor. For example, on a very sunny day or when you are surrounded by brightly reflecting snow. This prevents your photos from being overexposed. You can also use a grey filter for photos with long shutter speeds. Think about photographing surfaces with water, waterfalls or the veils of car lamps.
