The Samyang 24mm F/1.8 AF Sony FE is a prime lens with an astonishing resolution that reaches all corners. You can even achieve this when you use the full aperture of F/1.8. The 11 elements in eight groups with seven special elements, such as 2 ASP, 3 HR, 2 ED, allows every photographer to maximise their creativity. This is an ideal lens when you're starting out with astrophotography. This has to do with the great shots this lens can deliver with minimal spherical aberration and coma.
Plus, this lens also has a special function that is specifically intended for astrophotography. This function is known as: Custom Mode. You can operate this via the newly designed button, the focus hold. This function ensures you can immediately move the focus to infinity when you press this button; it is important to use the Custom Mode for this.Since the default value may differ slightly depending on which camera body you are using, this is a handy feature for saving and using the exact infinity focus value.
Last but not least, this lens has a Stepping Motor. This means you can operate a larger lens group for a more quiet, accurate focus. This ensures all your astro photos and videos attain superior image quality.
