Description
Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary - Canon RF
The Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary - Canon RF-mount is a fast wide-angle lens specifically developed for APS-C cameras with an RF mount. Combining a 15mm fixed focal length with a large maximum aperture of f/1.4, this lens is ideal for street photography, landscapes, interiors, architecture, and video. When converted to full-frame, it is equivalent to approximately 24mm, providing a dynamic and wide perspective.
Weighing approximately 240 grams and with a compact length of about 69 millimeters, this lens is perfect for photographers and videographers on the move. The Sigma 15mm is significantly lighter than its predecessor, the 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary, without compromising on image quality. This allows you to combine mobility with professional performance.
The optical construction consists of 13 elements in 11 groups, including 1 FLD element, 3 SLD elements, and 3 double-sided aspherical elements. These ensure excellent corner-to-corner sharpness and minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion. Furthermore, the design is optimized to suppress flare and ghosting, resulting in high-contrast and clear images, even in backlit conditions.
Thanks to the large f/1.4 aperture, the lens performs excellently in low light. The 9 rounded aperture blades also provide a soft and natural bokeh, making subjects stand out beautifully from the background. This makes the lens suitable not only for photography but also for cinematic video recordings.
The fast and quiet autofocus with a stepping motor ensures precise focusing and smooth transitions. Due to minimal focus breathing, this lens is also highly suitable for video productions and use on a gimbal.
Finally, the Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary features a dust- and splash-resistant construction and a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element, allowing you to shoot worry-free even under challenging conditions.
