The bright maximum F/1.4 aperture works well in low light and provides extensive control over depth of field for the use of selective focus techniques. Plus, the aperture is made up of 9 blades, so out-of-focus areas are softly reproduced and your images have smooth transitions.
The optical design features an aspherical element, along with a double-sided spherical element, that together significantly reduce aberrations, resulting in greater clarity and remarkably sharp image quality. Moreover, this compact prime lens also includes a stepping AF motor for near-silent autofocus performance.
