The FE 100-400mm f/4.5 GM OSS is the only lens in its class with a constant f/4.5 aperture across the entire zoom range. That means no exposure shift while zooming, consistent shutter speeds when tracking fast-moving subjects, and soft bokeh throughout the zoom range from 100mm to 400mm. For sports photographers working in changing light conditions, or wildlife photographers who must react extremely quickly to an unexpected movement, the constant aperture is a crucial advantage over lenses with a variable zoom.

Four XD Linear Motors and advanced control algorithms deliver autofocus speeds up to three times higher than previous models, with around 50% better tracking performance.
