The Sony FE 50mm F/2.5 G (SEL50F25G.SYX) is a prime lens for the Sony E-mount. The lens excels due to its high image quality and beautiful bokeh in a lightweight and compact design. That makes it highly suitable when on the road.
The lens is suitable for Sony full frame and APS-C cameras, and offers a compact solution for both photo and videographers. With its 50mm focal length, this prime lens is highly suitable for portraits, for example. The high image quality is achieved by an optical design with aspherical elements and ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements, so that colour fringes have no chance. The aspherical elements provide corner-to-corner focus, even at the widest aperture.
The FE 50mm F/2.5 G is part of three G lenses, each with a different focal length. In addition to a 50mm, the set also consists of a 40mm, optimal for photos and film recordings and a 24mm, ideal for landscape photography. In addition to high resolution and precise autofocus functions, the lenses have more in common: they are all the same size, have identical internal focus and the same intuitive operation. The lenses feature a focus lock button, focus mode switch, aperture ring and aperture click switch for ideal operation. Because of these similarities, they complement each other nicely and lens exchange is easy.
