The Sony HVL-F46RMA flash gun is a wireless radio-controlled external flash designed for Sony cameras with the Multi Interface Shoe. The Flash combines power, versatility and reliability. With a guide number of 46 (at 105 mm, ISO 100), it offers suitable coverage for a wide range of shooting situations, from studio portraits to outdoor event photography.
This model is equipped with a stable and robust Wireless radio communication system, allowing remote activation up to 30 metres, even when obstacles are present. It supports complex multi-flash configurations with the control of up to 15 units divided into 5 groups. It also offers options for fast sync (HSS), slow sync or second-curtain sync for more creativity in controlled light.
Designed for professionals, the HVL-F46RM features a clear user interface with a dot-matrix LCD screen and customisable buttons for quick access to essentialële functions. It also features enhanced overheat protection and a dust- and moisture-resistant construction for reliable use in the field.

This Flash is compatible with firmware updates via the USB port and can grow with your hardware and requirements. Ideal for guiding Sony Alpha hybrids in all lighting conditions.

To provide creators with optimal lighting in a variety of situations, the αSystem lighting system was developed simultaneously with the αcamera bodies. Its unique level of integration with Sony products ensures full communication with compatible Cameras, for reliable and precise lighting control.

Designed and manufactured by Sony, the HVL-F46RM works with αcameras to deliver consistent, professional light output at NG 46. Focal lengths from 24 mm (15 mm with wide-frame) to 105 mm are supported.

With a compatible camera, the Camera flash gun's High-Speed Sync range uses pre-flash to control each flash during sequence shooting, even when tracking moving subjects in scènes with large changes in brightness.

With a compatible Camera, the HVL-F46RM offers flash sync up to 1/80,000 second. In HSS (High-Speed Sync) mode, the Camera can sync at shutter speeds of 1/400 to 1/8000 seconds. This lets you isolate the subject, even against a bright Background, or accurately expose a moving subject.

When mounted on a compatible camera, the HVL-F46RM can deliver up to 60 continuous flashes at 10 fps. This prevents photos from being underexposed due to poor synchronisation.

The flash features an optimised algorithm and heat-resistant materials, allowing long-lasting use of the flash.

With 4 AA Batteries, the flash offers more than 320 flashes and a recycling time of about 2 seconds.
