Description
Zhongyi Mitakon Turbo Mark II Lens Adapter 0.726x – Canon EF to Nikon Z
The Zhongyi Mitakon Turbo Mark II is an advanced optical adapter, also known as a ‘focal reducer’ or ‘speed booster’. This accessory solves a fundamental issue for owners of Nikon Z APS-C cameras (such as the Z50, Zfc and Z30): the crop factor.
Normally, the image of your full-frame lens is magnified by 1.5x when mounted on an APS-C camera. As a result, your beloved 50mm lens effectively becomes a 75mm portrait lens, and you lose your wide-angle field of view. The Turbo Mark II reverses this effect. Thanks to a built-in optical system with 4 elements, the adapter reduces the image by a factor of 0.726x. The result is that your Canon EF lens behaves on your Nikon Z camera almost the same as it would on a full-frame camera.
In addition to restoring the angle of view, this adapter offers a major advantage in low-light conditions. Because the light from the larger lens is concentrated onto the smaller sensor, you effectively gain 1 stop of light. An f/2.8 zoom lens effectively becomes an f/2.0 lens, allowing you to work with lower ISO values for cleaner images.
This is a precision instrument for purists. The adapter has no electronic contacts. This means autofocus and vibration reduction (VR) will not function; focusing is fully manual (Manual Focus). A major advantage of this specific Nikon version is the built-in aperture ring. This allows you to control the aperture of modern Nikon G lenses, which do not have their own aperture ring. Since the camera does not detect a lens, you must activate the “Release without lens” option in the menu.
